The government has issued a warning for Chrome users. The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has asked users to update their browser immediately. The warning is only for those users who are using Chrome version older than 97.0.4692.71. Such users can become a victim of hackers.

The CERT-In advisory states that several shortcomings have been found in the Google Chrome browser. The report states that Google Chrome is not safe to use in V8 due to type confusion. It has identified several shortcomings like web app, user interface, screen capture, files API, auto-fill and developers tools. The government says that if a user does not update Google Chrome, then the risk of remote hacking of the device will remain.

Any cyber attacker can take advantage of these loopholes and Chrome users can be taken to any malicious web page without any reason. If hackers manage to take advantage of these loopholes, they will be able to run "malicious code" on your device and steal your personal information. In such a situation, along with the government, the team of tech giant Google has also advised users to update Chrome browser.
