Preface :

The name of Sardar Bhagat Singh is taken most prominently among the immortal martyrs of India. Bhagat Singh was born on 28 September 1907 in a patriotic Sikh family of Banga village (now in Pakistan) in district Lyallpur, Punjab, which had a favorable effect on him.

family :

His father's name was Sardar Kishan Singh and mother's name was Vidyavati Kaur. It was a Sikh family that adopted the idea of Arya Samaj. Arya Samaj and Maharishi Dayanand's ideology had a deep influence on his family. At the time of Bhagat Singh's birth, his father 'Sardar Kishan Singh' and his two uncles 'Ajit Singh' and 'Swarna Singh' were imprisoned for being against the British.

The day Bhagat Singh was born, his father and uncle were released from jail. On the occasion of this auspicious moment, the happiness in Bhagat Singh's house had increased even more. After the birth of Bhagat Singh, his grandmother named him 'Bhago Wala'. Which means 'good luck'. Later he came to be called 'Bhagat Singh'.

Education :

He started working in the revolutionary organizations of Punjab from the age of 14. DAV He passed the ninth examination from the school. After passing the Intermediate examination in 1923, he started preparing to tie the knot, then he fled from Lahore and came to Kanpur. Then, in the struggle for the country's independence, he devoted his entire life to the country.

Revolutionary Steps:

The courage with which Bhagat Singh fought the mighty British government for the country's independence will always remain a great role model for the youth. Apart from Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and English, Bhagat Singh also knew Bengali which he learned from Batukeshwar Dutt. The letters and articles written by him during his jail days give an idea of his thoughts. He expressed grief over the distances caused by language, caste and religion in the Indian society.

He also thought of the attack of an Indian on the weaker section of the society as strictly as the atrocities committed by an Englishman. He believed that his martyrdom would make the Indian people more furious, but this would not happen as long as he was alive. For this reason, he refused to write an apology even after sentenced to death.

Establishment of Naujawan Bharat Sabha:

The Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar on April 13, 1919 had such a profound effect on Bhagat Singh's thinking that leaving the National College in Lahore, Bhagat Singh founded the Naujawan Bharat Sabha for India's independence.

Bhagat Singh was so restless with the hanging of 4 revolutionaries including Ramprasad 'Bismil' and the imprisonment of 16 others in the Kakori incident that his party along with Chandrashekhar Azad joined the Hindustan Republican Association and gave it a new name 'Hindustan Socialist Republican Association'. '. The purpose of this organization was to prepare youth who could serve, sacrifice and suffer.

After this, Bhagat Singh, along with Rajguru, killed the British officer JP Saunders, who was the Assistant Superintendent of Police in Lahore on 17 December 1928. Revolutionary Chandrashekhar Azad also assisted him in this action. After this, Bhagat Singh, along with his revolutionary partner Batukeshwar Dutt, threw bombs and pamphlets to awaken the British government on 8 April 1929 in the auditorium of the then Central Assembly of British India at Alipore Road, Delhi. After throwing the bomb, both of them also gave their arrest there.

Lahore Conspiracy:

After this, in this case of 'Lahore Conspiracy', Bhagat Singh and his two other companions, Rajguru and Sukhdev were hanged together on 23 March 1931. It is believed that the death penalty was fixed only on the morning of March 24, but fearing the fear of the people, the government ended the lives of these heroes on the midnight of March 23-24, and in the darkness of the night, on the banks of the Sutlej, their last The rituals were also done.

It was a coincidence that when he was hanged and took leave from the world, at that time his age was 23 years 5 months and 23 days and the day was 23 March. Before his execution, Bhagat Singh had also written a letter to the British government, in which it was said that he should be considered a prisoner of war symbolizing the war of Indians against the British government and instead of being hanged, he should be shot, but this did not happen.

The martyrdom of Bhagat Singh not only gave impetus to the freedom struggle of his country, but he also became a source of inspiration for the youth. He became the head of all the martyrs of the country. The people of India and Pakistan see him as a lover of freedom, who devoted his entire life including his youth for the country.

Bhagat Singh was a prominent freedom fighter revolutionary of India. Even today the whole country remembers his sacrifice with great seriousness and respect. Many Hindi films have also been made based on his life, including The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Shaheed, Shaheed Bhagat Singh etc.
